Vitalstart was created to address a critical gap in aged care: older people and families need timely, reliable support that is centred on their needs—not provider convenience. Too often, care is fragmented, slow to respond, and difficult to navigate. Vitalstart exists to change that.

Inspired by Mercy's long-standing commitment to dignity, compassion, and service, Vitalstart combines strong clinical governance with modern digital delivery. Our model is built to ensure participants have genuine choice, clear information, and access to support when it matters most.

At the core of Vitalstart is our Nurse Care Partner model. Every participant is supported by experienced nurses who provide clinical oversight, coordination, and escalation support. This ensures care is safe, responsive, and clinically appropriate, while also supporting independent workers with professional guidance and governance.

Vitalstart operates a digitally enabled marketplace, connecting participants with vetted care workers and service providers. While technology improves access and efficiency, Vitalstart retains full responsibility as the registered provider for care quality, compliance, and outcomes.

Designed for responsiveness, Vitalstart is particularly focused on short-term, restorative, respite, and urgent care pathways—where delays can significantly impact wellbeing. Our approach is clinically led, participant-focused, and aligned with the evolving Support at Home program.
