VitalStart Workforce Competency Pathway
VitalStart connects participant risk, targeted learning, supervised practice, observation and task authority in one evidence-based workforce pathway.
$225 ex GST per worker, for one competency
Includes review of the agreed task standard, observed practice, a documented competency outcome and follow-up requirements. Cohort pricing starts at five workers. Travel, training, remediation, repeat assessment and participant-specific delegation are separate. Scope and final price are confirmed before work starts.
The Education Hub offers programme resources and signed-in learning for staff and provider teams. A non-accredited completion certificate follows acceptance of your learning evidence. Observed practical assessment is a separate service.

How this capability is delivered
Select the pieces required now: competency needs review, targeted education, observed assessment, participant-specific delegation or reassessment. Each deliverable is separately scoped and priced.
VitalStart maintains the agreed competency register, monitors review and expiry dates, samples evidence and reports gaps. Training delivery, observed assessments and new authorisations remain separately scoped.
Accountability boundary
Course completion does not replace observed competency, supervision or participant-specific authority where the task requires them.
One controlled pathway
The pathway separates learning, practical assessment and participant-specific authority so a certificate is never mistaken for permission to perform a task.
Define the participant, task, environment and clinical risks.
Teach against the relevant skills descriptor, care instructions and escalation plan.
Watch the worker perform or safely simulate the agreed task.
Test knowledge, technique, escalation and emergency responses.
Record the outcome, restrictions, supervision needs and review date.
Complete participant-specific delegation or clinical sign-off separately where required.
Review after material change, incident, extended absence, concern or the scheduled review date.
NDIS application
For NDIS high-intensity supports, workers need training specific to the participant and support. The NDIS skills descriptors recommend annual competency review and reassessment before returning after more than three months away from the support, or when needs or the support plan change, with timing adjusted for risk and worker experience.
